Cradle thief meaning1/23/2024 ![]() But in reality not much happened provided you kept still or crept - the terror was in the suspense. And each light that would start to flicker would be another light nearer to you! That was terrifying. Absurdly Spacious Sewer: The Downwind Thieves Guild is. Whenever a light would start to flicker, that would indicate that *something* was near that light but you didn't want to creep in the darkness to see what it was. Thief (series) Abandoned Hospital/Bedlam House : The Thief: Deadly Shadows level The Cradle. This looks bad enough! In Thief 3 (Deadly Shadows) the Shalebridge Cradle worked on building up this same terrible suspense - and it did it well: an abandoned, ghostly orphanage (similar to the asylum) but in complete darkness except a tiny few dim lights. I was told Shalebridge Cradle (Thief 3) was worse but I dunno. Khenderson99 - I saw what you refer to in the above-mentioned vid and I can see why they're the worst bits. ![]() If there any fellow wusses like me who would rather see some of what they'll face in advance of playing, then I found this vid on youtube (SPOILERS - only watch if you want to know about some of the scares in advance): I've now started this chapter but can only play 10-15 mins at a time before it all gets TOO tense. I don't normally ever read spoilers but, for this chapter, I want to know exactly what things are where so I can ready myself for the "this is the bit where THIS bad thing happens - 3 - 2 - 1 - now! Okay - not so bad, now the next part." These events you've mentioned are really helpful! I was going to start this part today and I've been advised to creep everywhere, but I've put it off by carrying out many Basso jobs instead! :P if you go on the stage past the mannequins, something happens - a noise i think - and you turn to find the mannequins hovering over you!! i peed a lot after that one! =PI just want to thank you for your description. and i KNEW something would happen with them. ![]() As soon as you do, you are pulled backwards out of the room and the door slams shut!! I peed a little after that one :pĮDIT: holy crap the mannequins!! forgot about those. Looking into the room you see a crawlspace leading into the blocked-off room next door, so you start to head in. The room with the pyromaniac girl :) you watch her playing with fire when you look through the keyhole, then open the door to see the burnt area on the ground. Oh another big jump scare is if you go into the alcove at the end of the hallway with that same painting, there is a book shelf that slams to the ground after you walk past it. Also, as i state in my Guide, there is a collecible painting that appears on an empty frame if you look at the frame through a hole in the wall. there is also a lady that moves around the corner at the far end of one of the hallways. There is NO excuse for small levels anymore.I love the wheelchair one. But WHY is Thief 4 having load times? Welcome to the modern age: most systems (by the steam survey) are at 4-8GB of system RAM. Moreover, I get that Thief 3 was on consoles and suffered in level size like Deus Ex 2 did - Shalebridge cradle (which the reviewer Rick James Astley linked to mentions :awe was two levels. There was no "key required" message for you, either. You picked one of your two picks, and it either did something, or it did nothing. Seriously people, can we be done with these lockpick games? We can assume Garret is an adept thief who knows how to lockpick. ![]() Now, on the thief games - same thing - 1 and 2 had NO stupid lockpick minigames. Skip to IW where you're back on the Island, and the island is split into east/west, doesn't include the statue (it apparently was destroyed), UNATCO remains its own level and the Illuminati HQ is it's own SMALL level. IIRC, all of the first level (liberty island) outside area, docks and the entirety of the statue were one level. In the original game, nearly no load times in main levels levels were large between loads. I just finished a run on Deus Ex Inivisible War (the 2nd game) and have to say.wow.
